E-mails to be sent at a later date don't send.

When I create an e-mail, and under the options, select "don't send before"
and select a future date/time, my e-mails remain in my outbox and don't send
at the requested time.

What version of Outlook do you have? What sort of mail account(s)? Does
the message get sent if Outlook is running at the time the message is to be
sent?

I am running Outlook 2003 SP1. The account is a Microsoft Exchange Account and no, the message does not get sent if Outlook is running at the time that the message is to be sent. As a matter of fact, even if Outlook is running and it is past the time that the e-mail should have sent and I select "send all", nothing happens then either (it still remains in my outbox).

Hi Jeff,

I set up the diagnostic logging as described below. Once in Outlook I
created a message at 10:05 to be sent at 10:15 am. By 10:16 nothing had
happened, so then I tried the "send all". This time the message did go.
Here is a copy of the log.
(If it is of any help, I also have a copy of the "detect and repair" log
that I ran from the HELP button at one point yesterday.)

How often do you have Outlook set to do an automatic send/receive? Outlook
will send a delayed message at the first send/receive following the time at
which the message was set to send, not at the precise time set on the
message. So I'm not at all suprised the the message wasn't sent at 10:15.

Under options, then mail setup, for group name 'All Accounts' (only group set
up), the "include this group for send/receive" boxes are checked for both
online and offline. The time for online "schedule an automatic send/receive"
is set to 1 minute but the box IS NOT checked. The time for offline
"schedule an automatic send/receive" is set to 5 minutes, but this box is NOT
checked either. Is this my problem? These pc's were all configured for us
(at work), and I have not changed that particular setting. Should I try
checking the boxes?

Thanks for your help.

Hi again Jeff,

I checked those boxes and tried again, and thank you, this time it did
work!! I had come across those boxes previously, but since this function was
working before, and I had not changed anything, I did not think to check
them. Thanks for stepping through this with me and helping me out.

Kindest Regards and Merry Christmas,

Lynn T.
