It doesn't do this. Go to 'View|Current View' and make sure "Unread
messages in this folder" is NOT selected. If it is, you will not see any
read messages, only unread ones; messages will seem to disappear as soon as
Outlook marks them as "Read". If this doesn't help, please provide more
details on the problem. While we're at it, do you have an AntiVirus
application installed that is setup to scan your email?
