I'm in the process of testing the EVA capabilities of MSPP 2003. In
Tools/Options/Calculate, I set the EVA calculation to be based on Physical %
Complete instead of % Complete. My intention was that EVA calculations would
only be calculated when the Project Manager updates the physical work
completed on each task instead of the % calculated related to actual work and
baseline work.
Problem: MSPP does calculate the EVA numbers based upon Physical %
Complete, but it also recalculates the values when actual work is recorded,
which changes the % Work Completed and % Completed. I thought by the
settings selected in Tools/Options/Calculate, MSPP would only use either %
Complete or Physical % Complete, but not both.
Anyone been using EVA successfully?
