Thank you for your reply. It must be part of what I need to get to the result
I want. However, can't get to the solution without a little more help.
Let me explain what I want by example.
A project has three, five-day, sequential tasks for a total of 15 days. Each
task uses a resource that costs $100/day.
Seven days into the project the first task is on budget, on time, 100%
complete and the second task has used $100 of it's planned budget and 2 days
(due to lack of availability of a resource) of it's schedule. The third task
has not started.
At this point BCWP=$500, ACWP=$600 and BCWS=$1000.
How do I set up the project, baseline it, and update tasks costs to get this
result from the Earned Value report in Microsoft Project?
By the way, I set up the earned value calculation as you suggested. However,
when I looked at the earned value method for the tasks, they had not changed.
Perhaps that is due to the order in which I set up the project. When I
manually set them the result is that the BCWP drops to zero, even for tasks
that are 100% complete. Not what I want.
Thanks for your help. Hope to hear from you soon.
