easyspace.com. any good?

Hi

I'm looking for an inexpensive webhost that supports FP Extensions and have
come accross easyspace.com. Has anyone here ever used them or have any
comments about them?

Thanks in advance,

Sonars UK

PS: Here's a website I've just finished: www.theroominteriors.co.uk. Let me
know what you think... if you want! Cheers.

If you want inexpensive then avoid easyspace.com - unless you are willing
to put up with banners, and limited features in their low cost packages.

IMO, www.1and1.co.uk are better value for UK hosting, or (among several
others) www.webhost4life.com outside UK.

Thanks for the recommendations. I decided to go with www.1and1.co.uk.

Just hoping that the quality of their hosting lives up to the quality of
their website.

Thanks in advance,

Let's put it this way when my site reached 24mbs I could no longer publish
and they kept telling me it was my fault. (Despite that fact that others let
me publish to their servers for testing and I had no trouble.. needless to
say I moved the site elsewhere) They also would not despite repeated emails
delete an old free site I had with them which I could not get back into as
they changed things to a new system but the site was still there... a sight
for sore eyes (forgive pun).. eventually when I got really stroppy they did
delete it. I had my domain with them it cost me £12 to move it from there
too.. their charge. Taught me never to have domain and hosting in the same
place.

web-mania.com is a uk host £20 a year (£23.50 for uk residents as they have
to pay VAT but £20 for anyone else) (yes a year, not a month) good support,
24hrs to set up. Great for small sites.

Plus the fact that easyspace.com just lost all my data!

I'll second that. OK, so I signed up to them a couple of years ago
and haven't got around to moving my domain (because I'm lazy) but it
think it really takes the p**s that they have the nerve to take your
money and never even mention that you'll have to use banner ads as
well. The first I knew of it was when I looked at my site and got a
proper shock. I emailed to complain and after a few days they
bothered to tell me it would cost around £60 to "opt out" of the
scheme.

Don't go there...

Sputter..... thankgoodness I moved mine within the year .... at that time it
was £12 ... £60 is bad ... daylight robbery ... now at the time I moved mine
to 123-reg.co.uk (and I've just moved it from there to namecheap which did
not cost me anything) but namecheap.com is very good I don't know if they
can help you get out from under the costs, give them an email and see. You
can also access the domain from within a major domain seller tucows.com I
think ... I seem to remember doing this when easyspace was down. ... years
ago now though. I think easyspace use them. worth a look.

Hi

I second the vote for http://www.oneandone.co.uk Excellent value and
great technical support. I can host 100 websites on 500mb for £4.99 a
month, which is half the price of the company I was using -
Freshdot.com - who gave the lousiest technical support you could
imagine; their email server was always faulty; and the guy who owns it
is a flakey artist ;-) Only go there if you want non stop hassle!

Cheers
