Echo in Macro

What is the echo command in the access 2003 macro builder? What does it do?
I have been told that using this command could somehow speed up my queries.

Newbie,

Setting Echo off means any screen updates will be suspended, so the user
does not see the results of any processing stuff that is going on. I
don't really see any reason why it would speed up your queries.
