Edit Custom Template in 2007

Hi - I hope someone can help me with this.

I am using PowerPoint 2007 in Windows XP. I need to update an existing
custom template. I need to remove an old logo from the master and replace it
with a new one. I have saved the file with a new name as a .pptx.

I have changed out the background on the title slide, and now I need to
change out the logo that appears on subsequent pages.

I can't get to it. When I choose Format Background, Hide background
graphics is checked and greyed and I can't touch it.

I have been searching Microsoft and other Help sites for hours and I am not
finding anything.

Thanks!

Hi folks,

Murphy's law - ask a question and immediately figure out the answer
yourself. So for anyone else's benefit or for anyone's comment, here is what
I did.

I created 2 11X8.5 Illustrator documents, one for my title page and one for
the rest of the documents. (My initial confusion was in thinking that I was
looking for a way to click on and modify the logo graphic itself. Wrong. My
background needed to be the size of the full page, because PowerPoint will
fill the entire page with the graphic provided. So if I want a little tiny
logo in the bottom right corner, I have to make a graphic that is a big white
page with a little tiny logo in the bottom right corner.)

I opened the Illustrator files in PhotoShop and saved them as JPGs.
(PowerPoint will insert an EPS file but it is pixelated and looks awful.)

For the title page, from the Slide Master vew, I clicked on the title page,
then right clicked and chose Format Background. First I reset the background
to get rid of what was there (that may have been unnecessary) and then I went
to Insert from: File and browsed to my JPG file.

For the main page, from Slide Master view, I clicked on the main page, and
again opened Format Background. Even though Hide background graphics was
checked and greyed, I could still Insert from: File and browse to my other
JPG file.

Viola! Done!
