Edit Excel data in PowerPoint

When trying to edit Excel data in PowerPoint, once complete, the format
result is much larger and only shows a corner of the original spreadsheet.
How can I edit it and have it return to its original view? Or do you need to
edit the original excel file and re - paste into PowerPoint?

Any assistance would be much appreciated.
