Edit "General Tab" file location property - Word 2002

In a Word 2002 doc, I do not want to send out documents that identify
the location(drive and file name) as indicated on the properties box
under the General Tab. I cannot change the document location, so
'saveas' to an accessible location, while a quick fix, will not work
here. Is there a way to clear the properties box (General Tab -
location) to either reflect no information ("" ) or to indicate
something indescript such as "desktop"?

The line Location: on the Properties' General tab shows the current
location of the document on your system - it is not part of the
document's meta data and will not be seen by the recipient of that
document. Instead, the recipient will see where the file is located on
her system.

OTOH there are quite a number of other meta data items which are indeed
part of the document and will be seen by the recipient. Some of them can
be removed with Tools/Options.../Security/Remove personal information
from file properties on save. I don't know whether this is a permanently
sticky option or a one-off or a document-specific setting.

If you are concerned about divulging hidden information to your
documents' recipients you should not send Microsoft Word files. Plain
text, PDF, RTF are other options.
