Edit points in Powerpoint or Word 2007

I have the impression it is only possible to use edit points on Freehand
shapes. In Office 2003 I could use it on any shape and I used that a lot. Is
there a solution?

Thanks

Other way around, actually. You can't edit points on most shapes in 2003, at
least not in PPT, but in 2007 you can select the shape. The Drawing tab
appears.

Choose Format | Insert Shapes | Edit Shape and on the dropdown, click Convert
to freeform.

Now you can edit points.
