Hello,

I am trying to set up the discussion forum articles to
view on my local hard-drive for editing purposes. I
followed the instructions by:

On the Tools menu, click Web Settings, and then click the
Advanced tab.
Select Show documents in hidden directories.
Click OK.
Click Yes to refresh the web.
Click Folders view.

Navigate to the directory you specified for discussion
group articles. (Is this the TOC file..form results
here?) If so, no files are stored on the local
file...however, I am able to view the contents on the
server.

Discussion group articles are named 0001.htm, 0002.htm,
and so on.

Open articles as needed in Page view by double-clicking
the file name.
If you find an offensive article, do not delete it.
Instead, type a standard message replacing the article
body, such as "[Deleted Article]." By not deleting the
message, you will protect forward and backward hyperlinks
to other articles in the discussion group thread.

Thank you,

Kimberly

You have to edit on the live server, otherwise if you edit locally and then
publish, you will overwrite and screw-up the live discussion web content.

Thats ok for now...all the articles are tests and I want
to delete them. How would I edit the articles on the
server.

You would open the live site. The discussion web should be a subweb, so that
during normal site maintenance, it is not overwritten.
