Edit the guest book?

R

Roch, NY Roadgeek

Forgive me if this subject has been covered before. I use the Frontpage
guestbook and have a**holes posting drug ads there. However Frontpage does
not allow me to edit or remove individual entries. Is there a way to do
this?

Thanks,
Dave

Open your online/remote web site in FrontPage. Go the the _private folder.
Open the guestbook.log (or htm, can't remember which) and delete whatever
posts you choose.

Open the remote site in FrontPage, then *carefully* edit guestlog.htm
(usually in the _private folder).

If you're concerned about undesirable topics/content, then you need to look at
another guestbook facility that can filter out 'banned words' (i.e. a post will
be rejected if it contains any of the words in a database that you've set as
banned).
