Edit the Registry to Disable Warning in Runtime Version

Hello,

I am in the process of rolling out my DB. Several employees will only be
given the Runtime version for 2007. A security warning for the Macros and VB
pop's up when they try to open the file. They do not have the option to turn
it off. I did not want to have the settings in the DB to enable all macros no
matter what.

I have gone into the registry and create a new key called Security, with a
new DWORD and it settings are decimal with a value of 1. This is located in
the Acess file for microsoft- in HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

We have created a package and users have downloaded the DB program into
Program Files which is where the shortcut on the desktop links to.

This is the first time I have rolled out a DB. I am not sure how the
registry key works so I am not sure if we sould be putting this in a
different spot like HKEY_USERS or something.

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Thanks for the thread. I am pretty sure that editing the registry keys is
what we need to do in order to disable those messages. I have researched this
topic throughly and we will be trying some of these new methods by going into
the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry tomorrow due to the fact that I do not have
priveleges to change or add to this registry.

If anyone else knows what I need to do to make the messages go away please
let me know. Thank you!

You can sign the project (VBA) and have users accept the signature as a
trusted publisher. You'll need to have/create a signature certificate.

Thanks Pete,

I know that we created a signiture, but I am not sure if it is signed (VBA).
Not all macros have been converted to VB, so is this something I'll need to
do? I guess it wouldn't hurt to try anyway...

I am having a meeting this morning with the person who is helping me roll
out the DB. Hopefully some of these tips will help us!
