editcopypicture graphic conversion filter

Hi,

I'm having a problem using editcopypicture in Project 2003 VBA.
Everytime I want to generate a gif image, I get this message:

German error message
Project kann \\path\file.gif nicht erstellen.
Im Grafikkonvertierungsfilter ist ein Fehler aufgetreten. Führen sie
eine der folgenden Maßnahmen durch:
Verringern Sie unter "Von" und "Bis" den Zeitraum der Auswahl.
Überprüfen Sie den Pfad zur Datei.
Überprüfen Sie Ihre Netzwerkverbindungen.
Geben Sie verfügbaren Speicherplatz frei, indem Sie nicht benötigte
Projekte, Programme oder Fenster schließen.
Geben Sie Speicherplatz auf dem Datenträger frei.

My translation:
Project cannot create \\path\file.gif
An error occured in the graphic conversion filter. Try one of these:
Decrease the time selection between "From" and "To"
Check the path of the file.
Check your network connections.
Free memory by closing projects, programs and windows.
Free disk space on the drive.

At first I thought it is an local problem on my PC, but today I had the
problem on another computer (Project 2000).

The strange thing is, that it worked on that other computer. I changed
the path -> error. I changed it back to the original path->worked.

Because of this, I thought it's an access problem with the new network
path. -> It is not!

It has nothing to do with user rights, because on the other computer
the local user is not an admin, and on my computer I am admin.

I tried to change the path to a local hard disk ->error
Freed some space ->error
Other possibilities to try ->error

I hope someone can help me with this very strange problem.

Thanks, serre

Hello,

finally I found a solution to my problem.
It could be a problem with any of the tons of office dlls, but how to
find out?
I analysed the Project Application with the freeware dependency walker
( http://www.dependencywalker.com/), which shows the functions of an
dll and dependencies between them.
I opened the Project exe with DepWalker and it said: MSO.DLL not found.
I searched for MSO.DLL on Google and found a thread, in that a user
proposed to repair the office installation.
I did so and now it works again!

I hope this can be a help for other users.

Bye, TW
