editing a protected word document

I have discovered an easy way to remove the protection from a word document:

Open the Word document in Open Office (I am using Open Office org 1.1.0) and
the protection is gone!

If the protection is for forms, you can accomplish the same thing by using
Insert | File to insert the file into a new blank document in Word.
