Editing chart data in PowerPoint 2007?

I've inserted a chart into PPT, but can't edit the data after saving.

Right click on chart, edit data disabled.
Click on chart, go to Chart Tools\Design\Data and edit data is disabled.

In the help file, it lists a "show data" button in the data memu above,
though I can't find one.

Any ideas?

Do you have Excel 2007 installed?
Is this on Windows XP or Vista?

Patrick Schmid [MVP]

Open Excel before you try to edit the data. I believe the buttons to
edit the data become enabled once Excel is open.
