Editing content in a discussion group

I am working on my first discussion group and would like to know if it is
possible to go into a group and remove a thread. If so, how can I do that?
Also, can I require folks to log in before posting to the group?

If your host allows you to have password protection, yes, you can have them
login. Contact your host.
