I would like to edit endnotes in a Word document in the following manner.
Let's there is a list of 200 endnotes in a document.
I have a new endnote to insert between the original endnotes of 6 and 7, for example. So I enter the new endnote directly within the body of the text (insert-footnote-endnote-auto number), and the new entry appears as the new number 7, and the remaining numbers that follow all automatically adjust to the new numbering sequence within the body of the text. That's fine.
However, the numbering sequence does not correct itself in a corresponding manner within the endnotes section at the end of the document. It makes sense that both sections of the document should be updated in an equal, corresponding manner.
Does anyone know if this corresponding update with the endnotes function can be achieved?
