Editing HTML Files

T

Terry Bennett

I am running Publisher 2003 SP2 and am trying to edit HTML files created by
another user using FrontPage. Although these open fine I am finding that
some of the formatting and headings disappear in Publisher.

I am a novice with Publisher ... and webpages!

Should this work OK or do I need dedicated HTML editor software?

Many thanks for any advice.

First, publisher is NOT an HTML editor although it will import HTML files to
some extent.
You will have to augment the content of the imported pages to fit you
desire.
Once you have done that you can save it as a publisher file for future work.

In some cases it is easier to recreate the web pages from scratch.
If a good majority of the web pages imported to where all you need to do is
modify fonts etc, go for it. That will save you some time.

There is no rule as what will import and in what condition. Images and
grouped items will not import as they are not code but are called by the
code.
