Editing hyperlinks

I'm using Word 2007 on Windows XP.
I’ve got to change a lot of hyperlinks because the document referenced has
changed locations from a folder “reference†to being comingled in the same
directory with the referencing document. An example is in order:

(old link) Reference/App%20A%20-%20Fruit%20Bearing%20-%20Hammond.docx
(new link) App%20A%20-%20Fruit%20Bearing%20-%20Hammond.docx

Probably over 1,000 hyperlinks need to be reset. I don’t know how to use
macros or other elements which can make this chore manageable. Can you help?

You can do ALT-F9 to expose all the field codes.
After that, use a find/replace to modify the paths in eh hyperlinks.

When you are done, do ALT-F9 again to toggle back to field values.

Thanks for the help with editing hyperlinks. Another need is coming forth.
How can I eliminate each and every hyperlinks in a copy of the document and
allow the text to which the linik is attached to remain.

Hi Jay,

Select the range you want to clear, then press Ctrl-Shift-F9. Note that this will also convert any other fields in the range (eg
cross-references) to their current values.
