Editing Message Box on a Custom Outlook Form

Can anyone help me with this?
I cannot interact with the message (i.e. enter text) after I drag the
"Message" box from the field chooser onto my form. I'm using Microsoft
Outlook 2003.

Generally, that is expected behavior, until you publish it, and then
choose the form to make a new data item. If you are trying to set up a
fixed initial value, then right-click it and go to properties or
advanced properties. In the ap, type it into the text property.
