Editing Online

When I edit Front Page Online as opposed to my local, do I then have to go and make the update in my local as well to keep them in sync?

I have been having publishing problems (server error and service.cng) that I think are now resolved but I would still prefer to do the work online and not have to publish - But - I would like to keep the version on my local the same

Also - when editiing online, can you import photos right from your C-drive, is it similar to work this way as it is if you are working on local? I am on FP 2002. I apologize if this question enters the discussion group twice, I submitted it earlier but don't see it in the discussion threads

Thanks in advance

Yes. Unless you do a publish, FrontPage won't know that
the two versions are the same.
I have been having publishing problems (server error and
service.cng) that I think are now resolved but I would

publish -

Despite recent problems, this is a poor choice. It will
certainly cause you more grief in the long run.
But - I would like to keep the version on my
local the same.

Then you have to use the Publish command. You can pick
your direction, but updating the live site and then
publishing a backup give you no room for error, no room
for experimentation, no way to prepare a *set* of pages
and cut them all over at once.
Also - when editing online, can you import photos right
from your C-drive, is it similar to work this way as it
is if you are working on local? I am on FP 2002.

You should always add pictures to your FrontPage-based Web
first, and then add them to your pages.
I apologize if this question enters the discussion group
twice, I submitted it earlier but don't see it in the
discussion threads.

Thanks in advance

Thank you very much. Could you please explain what you meant by
"You should always add pictures to your FrontPage-based Web
first, and then add them to your pages.

Do you mean add on local then publish? or other way.....perhaps I am adding photos incorrectly that could be causing the grief. Currently I build a page on local and drop them in, then publish

Thanks in advance

File | Import the images from your local hard drive location into your web
into the images folder, then insert on the page and save before publishing.

"Import" them into FP's image folder first, then place them into your design from there.
