Editing templates

I am using the "contemporary press release template, but I want to replace one of the pre-set graphics with one of my own. Looking at the codes, the graphic appears to be placed as a field {EMBED Word.Picture.6}. How can I either 1) delete the field or object completely, or 2) find the Word.Picture.6 graphic so that I can replace it?

The picture is in the header. view menu Header/footer

then click pic and hit delete.

Select the graphic and delete it or use Insert | Picture | From File to
replace it. If the graphic is anchored to the header/footer, you must be in
the header/footer pane to do this (View | Header and Footer).

Which version of Word are you using?

If later than '97, try under File => New selecting your template and
checking the box for "New Template" when you create a new file. Make your
modifications to that new template and use File => Save As to save it in a
folder in your templates folder. Give it a unique name. If you name that
folder to be the same as the tab that you found your original template
under, your template should show up under that tab next time you look.
