Editing text in shared borders (FP2002)

SteveMc

I’m unable to figure out how to edit only the text in the shared border of Web site. I put the site together using one of the included FrontPage templates. If you go to this page of my site, www.mcguirecommunications.net/services.htm, you can see my problem. In the link buttons (Service 1, Service 2, Service 3) on the left, I want to change only the copy so that they name the actual services.

When I click on the shared border in page view, of course, the whole border is selected and will then be replaced completely with whatever I type in there. Not what I want. I expect that there’s a pretty straightforward way to do what I need, but I just haven’t come up with it. In case you didn’t guess, this is the first Web site I’ve done.

Thanks for any help.

You need to edit the page titles in navigation view.

You can not have unique content for a individual page when using shared
borders, all pages using the shared border will shared the same content.

Also to see the content of your shared borders, use Tools Web Settings Advanced - show hidden folders, and look in the _borders
folder

Thanks to both of you! As I suspected, it was quite simple and now works the way I wanted it to.
