Eeek! Unstoppable purging...

Hello--

While offline, I selected "purge deleted items" from my inbox. Now
everytime entourage goes to check my inbox, it tries to purge deleted
items from my inbox, and I can't figure out how to make it stop!
There an annoying "Synchronizing offline events" popup windown, for a
few seconds, every single time I download a message. Does this make
sense? Is there any way to stop this? I use Entourage X and a ".mac"
account.
