effects work?

If I apply the functions like moving gifs, Dynamic
effects, certain scipts, behaviors, is there any reason
why they will work in 'preview in browser' but not when
published? Heard this can be a problem so I don't want to
add them for nothing. Thanks

Some older versions of Frontpage would remove script code because it didn't
understand it. However, with newer versions, like FrontPage 2002 and
FrontPage 2003, and also, I believe, FrontPage 2000, you shouldn't have any
problem and publishing scripts.

If you are using FrontPage 95 or 97, I would highly recommend upgrading to
FrontPage 2003. The behaviors feature in FrontPage 2003 is designed just
for adding dynamic elements to your Web pages.

One hears all kinds of things on the Internet, most of them either lies or
rumors. What have you experienced?

Well I read it and saw it; a friends site won't show some
of the effects and java scripts yet the work perfectly
fine in preview in browser. So I am creating my site and
just don't want to waste time with it. So thought I'd see
what to stay away from before starting. FP 03 Thanks

If your friend's site has things that aren't working properly, that is more
of a reflection on your friend's skill level. For example, you could
certainly create a Word document that is loaded with misspellings and bad
layout practices. Good software doesn't make one a good developer.

My best advice to you would be, don't rely on FrontPage to do everything for
you without knowledge. FrontPage is as good at web site development as Word
is at document development. But web site development is more complex. A fair
understanding of HTML, HTTP, and the way the WWW works is going to be your
best friend when using FrontPage.
