Effort driven

Can someone please tell me when I should use effort driven in a fixed
unit or fixed duration task? I'm not 100% sure what exactly happens
when this is enabled or disabled.

Thanks,
Scott

Scott E --

For a Fixed Units or Fixed Work tas, effort driven scheduling shortens the
Duration of a task as you add more workers to the task, or lengthens the
Duration of the task when you remove workers from the task. For a Fixed
Duration task, effort driven scheduling reduces the Units for each resource
as you add more workers to the task, or increased the Units as you remove
workers from the task. Some tasks are not effort-driven in nature, and you
must specify that these tasks are not effort driven. Hope this helps.

Hi Scott,

Just to add a short comment to Dale's response, Effort Driven has no effect
whatsoever when you make the initial assignment. It only comes into effect,
as Dale explained, when you then change the assignment.
