Electronically labelling a floppy disk

Trish

For an exam I have to "electronically label a floppy disk" with my name.

Is this simply another way of saying "create a folder with your own name on
the floppy disk" or is it something different. I think it is something
different, given their terminology. Would be VERY grateful for your urgent
help!
Thanks.

I'm not sure exactly what "electronically label a floppy disk" means but
maybe this is what they want:

Insert the floppy to be labelled, then double click "My Computer" and right
click on drive A:, select properties. You'll see a blank box at the top of
the properties window. Type in your name (you're limited to 11 characters)
and click OK.

I hope that's what is wanted....

If you put your disk in the drive and go to the format menu for you
floppy, one of the boxes there asks for a label. This is probabl
what they mean, you can enter your name in the textbox there.

Alternatively, if theres data on the disk you want to keep instead o
formatting off, I think you can put the disk in the drive, righ
click A:, and go to properties. There may be an option to label th
disk there too, I'm not 100% sure though

From a command line window (CMD.EXE):
LABEL A: Trish

See: LABEL /?
