Eliminate Graphics Conversion White Space

Bilbert

I am using Office 2003.

We’re using PP as a quasi-graphics tool, converting our charts to graphic
files; typically saving them as .jpg or .png files. They are then inserted
into Word documents as part of a manual, but then have to be cropped each
time to eliminate the white space. Many times, within PP, the “graphics†can
be enlarged to minimize white space, but more times than not this isn’t
possible.

I get a WIDE variety of inputs from folks who are novice users, at best, and
the graphics historically change numerous times prior to documents being
finalized. This means I have to delete the existing graphic, insert the
updated file, and re-crop.

I’d like to be able to be able to link the graphic files from Word, so each
time they are changed they can be “automatically†updated, but I can’t figure
out how to keep from having to re-crop the graphic each time it’s updated in
Word.

Obviously this is a convoluted means to an end, but any advice or
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your
assistance!
