Email accounts configuration doesn't hold

V

Valter Santos

Hi guys, anyone who can help me on this problem will be
appreciated.

I'm having a problem with my Outlook 2002/SP3:
My outlook doesn't hold the pop3 accounts configuration I
type in there, because everytime I restart my PC or
restart the outlook or even after 36 hours of activity it
looses the email account configuration I had typed in all
the accounts I have configured.
for example in the pop3 field instead of pop server I
then get "localhost" in the field after loosing the
configuration, and in the username field I get for
example: sx12345/pop.yahoo.com
I tried everything, saving inumerous times, testing the
accounts, and this happens always. Don't know what to do
or how to correct this problem which is annoying as you
can imagine.
PLEASE HELP. thanks and kind regards
Valter

Try removing your antivirus software and testing then reinstalling.
The mail scanning option of your AV is changing it. It sets up a "localhost"
to enable the scanning

This is being caused either by an anti-spam or anti-virus program, not
Outlook. Do NOT uninstall your anti-virus program. Try disabling email
scanning in it, if that is the problem. Your anti-virus program will still
catch any viruses coming into your system.
