Email address listing

My "Contacts" listing appears last name first as I want it, but when I press
the "To.." button for new or forwarded email, the listing appears first name
first. How do I make it last name first?

I have 2002. Help does not have a Last Name or Display As. I only seem to
have control over the File As field. I need to find a way to have Display As
be last name first or have the To button on email go to the File As field
instead of the Display As

Thanks for your help

Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there

Thanks for help, but didn't work. When I got to the Microsoft Outlook
Address Book box, the only choices were First Last (John Smith) and File As
(Smith, John). I think I need to find a way to have the "To..." button on
emails refer to the "File As:" field in Contacts or have the "Display as:"
field show last name first.

Any more ideas?

Those are your only two choices. If your File As... field is not configured
as "Last, First" then of course your Outlook Address Book won't sort by
"Last, First." It will sort by whatever format you have set for your File
As... field.

Many thanks. Apparently the missing piece was the need to reboot. When I
turned it on after last message, it came out the way I wanted. Thanks again

A restart of Outlook is probably all it required.
