Email Attachements Don't Open in Outlook

When I receive Excel files attached to an incoming
Outlook email, I'm not able to open them by clicking on
them form within Outlook. Instead, I have to first save
them, then close Outlook, and then go to the saved file
to open it from within Excel. I've tried turning off all
my email security options to no avail. Thanks. (I'm
using Office 2003 and XP).

Close outlook and excel and try one of these:


Sometimes one of these works:

Close Excel and
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /unregserver
then
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /regserver

The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's
factory defaults.

An alternative might be to do:
Try Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it)
