I have written a (rather primitive) routine to check for
invalid email addresses in our customer database, and
display them for correction. But it only works on a couple
of hundred at a time, starts back at the beginning of the
selection after displaying an item for corection, and uses
some crude parameters (such as contains "@") that I have
given it. I'd like to improve it so that it can deal more
effeiciently with the several thousands of customers we
have, but can't find the answers to a few challenges:
1) can I make use of OL's email resolution facility to
validate email addresses? (If so, how?)
2) after an item has been displayed and corrected
manually, can I have the routine pick up where it left
off, instead of go back to the beginning?
3) if I use CDO to loop through (which I am sure I
should), what is the field name for the email address?
You can assume I am a power-business user, pretty familiar
with SM's jumpstart book, but not a professional
programmer...
thank you for you help
P.S. FYI, I use this database for permission-marketing,
not spamming - you can check us out if you like at
