Email Delete Recovery Auto Purge Cycle

I want emails to "permanently delete"; however when I use shift+delete, they
still can be recovered from the tools menu "recover deleted items". How do I
disable this feature? If there is no way to disable, does anyone know when
the "AutoPurge" of this folder cycles. I was thinking it was when you close
outlook and reopen, however that was not the case. I also thought maybe it
was 24 hours from time of delete - not sure on this one yet. I am unable to
find anything that addresses this feature outside of IMAP files - to which I
don't have to my knowledge. the Microsoft help states to access the IMAP
deleted files through the "Edit" menu, and I do not show any IMAP files. Any
help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lisa

Sounds like you are working with a Microsoft Exchange account. If this is
the case, then you can't disable the "recovery" area as that is controlled
by the gods that manage the Exchange server. Depending on how they manage
the server, the items will be removed from this area after "X" days and a
successful backup of the server or just "X" days. In either case, you
should be able to ask the folks the run your Exchange server what the
corporate policy is on the recover deleted items area since it is there to
help you/them from getting back accidental deletes w/out having to resort to
requesting a restore from backup tape.
