Email Forwarding via mail rule

Like many other posters here, I am perplexed at why my email forwarding rule
does not work. For information security reasons, I cannot collect my
personal emails at work, but would like to have certain people's emails get
to my work emailvia a forwarding rule because when I travel, I will be able
to see them on my blackberry device. Otherwise, I am ok with checking my
home email on my home computer...

I have constructed the rule using the following logic:

"Apply this rule after message arrives;
from [email protected], [email protected], etc....(names from my address book)
forward it to [email protected]"

I am not on a workgroup version, when I check Help-About it says internet
mail only (which I assume refers to the fact that I transfer messages via
POP/SMTP. I am using Outlook 2000 SP-3.

The rule only works when outlook is running, is it running all the time on
your home machine?

Yes, pretty much. It would probably be better if I could get this done via
my ISP, but I just don't know how to do that, so I used this instead. I
assume what you mean is that the rule is processed only after email
physically reaches my local outlook inbox, which is what I envisioned.
Separately I might inquire of the folks at my ISP as to how to do it on their
server, but I would like to at least get this in place. As a secondary
question, I noticed in the documentation on the MS site that in a Corporate
configuration, these rules run on the exchange server, and therefore you do
not get a copy of the message in the original mailbox. Would I assume it
would be the opposite in this configuration, where I am running the rule
locally?

A couple of interesting notes....and things that are confusing me--

1. the mail I am attempting to auto forward does not even go to my
Outbox...It would seem to me that if the problem was on my POP Mail server,
the rule would run on my machine and then the mail would be blocked from
leaving the outbox.

2. I spoke to my ISP, and they insist that there is nothing on their server
which would prevent this.
