email hyperlinks

When i click on email hyperlinks, instead of opening IE
and going to the indicated page, it opens up a blank IE
page and My Documents. If IE is already open, then the
hyperlink works like it should. I have used Outlook for
years and this problem just popped up a month or so ago.
It started doing this intermittently but now it seems to
be permanent. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Your IE version
