email in forms

Any form I create and have sent to my email always shows as being FROM:
anonymous@mywebsitehost or whatever. Is there a way to capture the email
address that they're inputing into the form and have that inserted in the
email in the FROM: field?

Batfink,

Since the from submission is coming to you from your site
rather than the end user, you will get something like that.

What you can do is set you Form Properties so that the
users email is the Reply to when opening the mail.

To do this...

Right click inside the Form proper (the dashed or dotted
line around your form).

Select "Form Properties".

Select "Options".

Then "E-mail Results" tab.

Under "EMail message header:" "Reply-to line:"
check/tic "Form field name" and type the field name for
your user email exactly as it appears in Form field
properties.

Save and republish.

Now when the email is opened, the form will still be sent
by the site, but the Reply to will be the users email.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried just that (I should have mentioned that)
but still get the same results. Is there something else I'm missing?
(sorry i posted same message twice - guess I forgot!)

It will Always come from your server
- that's "who" is sending it
(and your host has set it up to be anonymous@mywebsitehost)

But did you try to Reply To the message your received?
- that would use the Reply-to (from your form) in the Email header

That's what I was afraid of - it's always coming from there. I didn't try to
Reply - I'll do that out of curiosity but I don't think it will help me
much. Do you know if there's any way to work around it - maybe without
FrontPage?

Whatever you use, the mail (form) will still come from the server, not the user
