I have a laptop with Outlook 2003 and Office 2003 SP1. I am on XP SP2. I
have an email that contains several .gif files. The email was forwarded to
me, and the original recipient can see all the gif files. She is also on XP
SP2, but is using Word 2002 SP1 and Outlook Express for mail.
When I open this particular email message, I cannot see any of the gif
files. I don't even see a red x. They don't appear at all. If I try to
reply to this message, it locks up the PC.
I was getting an message "starting microsoft office word 2003 as your e-mail
editor", then the PC would lock up. I turned off the feature to block
pictures from downloading, and now I don't get the e-mail editor message, it
just locks up, and I have to end task to get out of Outlook.
