Hi, I am using Entourage 2008 V12.1.3
I have to exchange mailboxes configured.
The exchange is supplied by Fasthosts and is Exchange 2003.

The exchange server is working perfectly on all PCs that access the mail accounts in question and works fine when I Use the webmail facility.

But!!!

Whenever I send email on a Mac it does not always send. The progress bar completes and the email is dropped into the sent folder, but the recipient does not receive it. This is not just one recipient but many all from different companies.

When I log onto my webmail emails do not appear in the sent folder either. They only appear later, I think, after a sync has taken place.

This started with Entourage 2004, so I upgraded all macs to 2008 but the problem continues... I have now tried it on 3 different Macs (1 a brand new install with Entourage 2008). Its only where Entourage is involved, even mobile devices are working perfectly.

Can anyone help? I am going mad with this...

Your mail message first passes to the Outbox under the folders "On My
Comptuer" in Entourage where it is then delivered to the server. Only
after receiving acknowledgment from the server will Entourage move the
message to the Sent items folder of your Exchange account.

To rule out Entourage as the problem, select Entourage menu --> Switch
Identity... Create a new identity and then set up your Exchange account
in this new identity for testing. Allow time for syncing with the server.

If the problem persists in a brand new Entourage setup then this is most
likely a server problem. If the problem goes away then you may want to
consider using the new identity instead of the older one.

Did you resolve this?
I have exactly the same problem. I can connect to the exchange server(Hosted
by FastHost) and recieve messages ok but I can't send all the time, sometimes
i can other times i cannot.

The next time you have a question, please start your own thread. This makes
it easier to follow YOUR problem without getting replies mixed up with
various questions that are often similar but have different solutions.

When asking a question please include which machine you're running and which
version of OS X, as certain answers will vary between different Macs and
Tiger vs. Leopard, etc. Including RAM helps when there are performance
issues.

We also need to know what version of Entourage you are using including any
updates.
