Email not received in Entourage 2008

I have had a recurring problem with entourage 2008. From time-to-time it stops receiving email from the exchange server. The only way I have been able to get it work is to delete my existing account and recreate an account from scratch. Entourage will then work for a while but after a while stops working. Sending mail works fine it is just receiving mail that stops working.

I have tried changing the account configuration by using the http and non-http exchange server connections without success.

Any thoughts?

Have managed to get this fixed - by right clicking on the Inbox folder and selecting "Folder Properties" and clicking the Empty button under Empty Cache seems to have done the trick.
