As far as I can tell nothing is muted. I can play music, and the computer
makes the Gateway sound when it is turned on and off. I just upgraded from
Outlook Express to Outlook 2003. Outlook Express was giving me the
notification.

I also have the same problem as Leigh Anne. I get all other sounds apart
from email notification - very strange!
Hope somebody can help us out ?!

What sound do you have set in Control Panel for mail notification? Does it
play with the Preview button in the Sound applet?
