email problems

I have a problem with sending and recieving mail in
outlook 2000.
when I try to send or recieve email I have to go into
tools and then accounts then goto properties, once into
properties I go to servers and check incoming mail server
which should be (mail.tradingplaces.uk.com)but instead
reads (local host)
in the section named incoming mail server under account
name it should read ([email protected]) but
instead reads
([email protected]/mail.tradingplaces.uk.com)
We have a broadband connection and internet andemail go
through a lan connection.
I have reloaded outlook 2000 I have tried to use outlook
express without success please can some one shed some
light on the subject. I originally thought it might be the
remenants of a virus but cannot have not found anything so
far.
I would be very grateful for any help you can give.

The settings are probably being changed by an antivirus program that you're
running. See if your antivirus vendor has an update, or turn of scanning of
inbound and outbound messages.
