EMail Reminders for Summary Tasks

I have setup a number of "Administrative" projects for
time tracking as suggested by Dale Howard but find that
the system generates email reminders for summary tasks
even though the summary and detailed tasks all show the %
Work Complete as 100%. What changes do I need to make to
stop the reminders that show only the summary task.
Thanks in advance.

Don't blame me for your problems... :)

It sounds like you have assigned resources to summary tasks, which is nearly
always a very bad idea. If you have resources assigned to any summary
tasks, remove them, and this should solve your problem. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I hit the Send button before I finished my message. After you remove
the resources from the summary tasks, you should republish your project with
Collaborate - Publish - All Information. Hope this addendum helps!

Thanks for your reply Dale but that is not the problem. I
have fervently been discouraging the practice of
assigning resources to summary tasks in our organization
and think I have now won that war. The Administrative
projects I'm talking abount do not have any. What else
could I be looking at short of letting the individual
tasks stand on their own, without summaries?

I saw this happening with one of my projects too. What I
found was that I had set my reminder options for my team
members up. They were getting reminders for stuff that was
already complete. When I removed this setting or turned of
sending reminders to my team members (you might just
change what type of reminders to send team members) they
quit.
