How does HTML make it harder (unless you have text in images)? Don't you
still put the cursor where you want to insert text and start typing? It may
not be so obvious where you've put new text (I usually use colors), but it's
not hard to enter it. Am I missing something?
I'll agree with Diane on this one with regard to quoting and numbering.
Different mail applications display quoted text differently. Some
applications indent, some applications change text color or font and
some folks change the quoting characters. This makes me have to respond
using their preferences and not mine.
Some people set their preferences to always reply in HTML even though
I've sent my original message in plain text. Using HTML to mimic plain
text garbles my messages when I convert them back to plain text. (Yes,
I'm evil like that. ;-) )
If I want to respond inline to a series of automatically numbered or
bulleted items then I really have a doozie of a time. I often cannot
insert my comments without creating a new numbered item or bullet, which
I don't want to do.
I prefer not to have anything that takes away my ability to view
messages as I want to see them nor takes away my ability to compose my
responses to make sense.
