not able to send email? prior to 3.16.09 email worked fine so this seems to
be a recent issue. any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Any chance that you are scanning your in and outgoing emails with your Anti Virus
scanner.? If that is the case then disable the email scanning. If you have
Norton,Trend or MacAfee then you need to uninstall and then re-install without the
email integration (scanning )
