Email status is fails to synchronize

Aws

Hi...
We are using MS Office Outlook Standard Edition 2003 SP2 With Exchange
Server 2000 Enterprise.
We have the problem that the status of the emails (read or not read, bold or
not) doesnt synchronize from one instance of outlook in the PC with another
instance of outlook in the laptop! This is the case even after restarting
Outlook or even restarting the whole PC or Laptop`?

Any idea please
Thanks for all you responses

Do both have Cached Exchange Mode enabled?
Do you see the changes occur when using OWA?
Do you see the changes occur when you disable Cached Exchange Mode?

Hi
Thanks for your answer.

1. Cached Exchange Mode is enabled for both outlooks in the PC and in the
laptop!
2. We are not using this OWA

When I disable the Cached Exchange Mode, sure they synchronize perfectly,
but the idea is that we want to synchronize the account when Cached Exchange
Mode is enabled isn’t that better?!

Note also please that we have made upgrading from Exchange Server 2000
Standard to Exchange Server 2000 Enterprise Edition recently!!! And this when
some users start to notice the problem!

Thanks a lot.

Sure, CEM is better but it's a troubleshooting step to make sure that
changes replicate to the server. OWA is the webinterface from Exchange to
view your mailbox and installed by default. Usually you can acces it by
http://mailservername/exchange

How did you do the upgrade? If you rename the ost-file to .old on both
clients and have it resynch with Exchange does it work correctly then?

Hi and sorry for delay on replaying...
We have disabled this OWA for security purposes! So it’s not in use.

I don’t know exactly how the upgrade to Enterprise Edition was done. We have
a consolent (Exchange Server Certified!) done that for us, and he doesn’t
know either why this problem happened.

I tried to rename the .ost files and created them again (which took long
time since the size is around 1GB)… but still the status of the emails
doesn’t want to synchronize.

Any further help please.
Thanks
