How can I make it so my emails aren't automatically generating tasks, I have
about 500 tasks since I just started using outlook and its creating tasks for
a year ago.

Errr, Outlook doesn't do that, afaik, so, you'd want to figure out what software
you added is actually doing it.

Does it happen if you start outlook in safe mode (start-run-outlook /safe)?

Also check what you have asked Outlook to do to incoming emails through the
Rules function. Maybe you are sending emails to the Tasks folder.
