Hi

Odd one probably. I want to email a small database application including
backgroudn data to a colleague but they can not open it despite having MS
Access on their machine. The software packages appear to be compatible.

Am I missing something, a hidden security file or something?

Thanks

Did you attach the MDB to the e-mail without zipping it? By default, both
Outlook and Outlook Express will block attached MDBs as potentially
dangerous file types. The easy solution is to zip the MDB first - ZIP files
are not blocked.

If that's not it, you may need to provide more information, such as what
happens when your colleague tries to open the MDB - is there an error
message?

No, I will check but I do not suspect that this was the problem as she felt
that she could not "open" the application rather than not receiving it. The
colleague is down the country, not on a network etc.

Yeah, good point. That is not available as I am dealing with someone who,
whilst they are quite IT literate, well, they're an accountant! ;-) jk
before I get flamed.

I will check and if the zip does not work, I'll be back!
