Emailing a spreadsheet containing photos

For our business I have set up a template for quotes in excel which includes
a photo beside every product. This works really well for printing quality
quotes but some clients request their quotes be sent by email. Due to the
resolution of the images the file size is rather large ie 11mb+. I tried to
Zip the file but it only reduced by a few hundred kb. How can I solve this?

I think it depends if the clients need the pictures in their quote.

I dont use pics in Excel but I believe if the cell (pic) is a link to the
Picture file rather than embedding it, the emailed file would be a 'normal'
size as it wouldnt include the Pic.

Unfortunately, the whole idea of the speadsheet quote is to provide images to
the client (our accounting software provides a standard quote) so leaving the
photos out is not an option. We also have hundreds of products so I was
hoping to find an alternative to having to make up a whole new template with
compressed photos.
Thanks for your responses but it looks like its "back to the drawing board".
Many thanks
Karen

The other possibility is turning the spreadsheet into an email and then
compress images.

How would I do that? Zipping it doesn't work. Are you suggesting the
spreadsheet should be in the body of the email and the photos as an
attachment.

Hi again. I have not had a lot of experience working with photos but I've
worked it out. I selected one of the photos within the spreadsheet and opened
the Format Picture Toolbar. I selected compress pictures and there was an
option to apply it to all pictures in the document. I changed the Res. to
Web/Screen. This has reduced the size of the file dramatically and I am now
able to send by email. A great learning curve!
Thanks for your input.
