Emailing Access Database

I am designing a simple database at work and would like to email a copy to my
home so that I can work on it from home. However, Outlook won't let me
receive it. I believe it's a safeguard against downloading viruses. Is
there any way round this ?

Thank you for this information. Could you please tell me how to do the
second option. I can't see the extension MDB in the filename, so am unable
to change it. I've looked in properties and all I can see is the name I have
given the database.

In the Windows Explorer (i.e. the "My Computer" icon on your destop), use
the Menu Tools / Folder Options ... / View tab and uncheck "Hide extensions
for known file types" option.

Remember to rename the extension back to MDB or Access won't recognise the
file. Better still, make a copy of your database file then re-name the
copy.

Zip is much better, though. The zipped file will be much smaller for
sending and zipping will add integrity check (for the zipped file) when you
unzip the zipped file.

Thanks very much was able to follow instructions and it worked. Now I know
both methods, which will be really useful.
